Phlebectomy is a technique to remove varicose veins. In this procedure, small incisions are made in the skin overlying the varicose vein and the undesirable vein is removed. Stitches usually are not required but steristrips may be applied. This procedure in Dr. Weiser’s office with local anesthesia. Phlebectomy, when needed, is often performed along with another treatments for varicose veins including laser ablation and sclerotherapy.
